Meet the Surgeons

Orthopedic surgeons

Orthopedic surgeons work on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Joint replacements, carpal tunnel release, knee scopes and rotator cuff repair are examples of orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Byck is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He received his medical training at University of Louisville School of Medicine and was a surgery resident at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Byck was trained in sports medicine at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. He has practiced in Utah since 2002.

Dr. Felix is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He received his medical training at University of Utah School of Medicine with orthopedic training from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a spine surgery fellowship from the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Rocco is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He received his medical training at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and was a surgery resident at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Rocco was trained in foot and ankle surgery at Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center. He has practiced in Utah since 2006.

Dr. Stevens is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He received his medical training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and was a surgery resident at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Stevens has practiced in Utah since 2006 and speaks Spanish.

Dr. Winterton received medical training at Harvard Medical School and was a surgery resident at the Mayo Clinic. He is a member of the Board of Counselors of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is also a member of the Executive Council of the Utah State Orthopaedics Society. Dr. Winterton has been practicing in Utah since 2000.

General surgeons

General surgeons are responsible for caring for patients with a broad range of conditions that commonly require surgery. They can perhaps best be described as surgeons who do not specialize in a field requiring additional training, such as heart surgery or neurosurgery.

Dr. Price is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and a member of the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical training at the University of Utah School of Medicine and was a surgery resident at the University of Utah Medical Center. Dr. Price has practiced in Utah since 1989.

Urologists

Urologists specialize in the body's urinary system, including kidneys, bladder, and urethra. They are also the specialists for men's reproductive health. Common urological treatments include treatment of kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, and incontinence.

Dr. Brant is a board-certified urologist and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical training at University of California. He completed his residencies in Surgery and Urology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and then pursued a fellowship in sexual medicine and surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Johnson is a board-certified urologist and the Chief of Staff at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center. He received his medical training at New York Medical College and completed a residency in urologic surgery at the same institution.

Dr. Waterman is a board-certified urologist. He received his medical training at the University of Utah School of Medicine and was a surgery resident at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Waterman specializes in stone disease, prostate and renal cancer, infertility, endourology and minimally invasive surgical techniques and procedures.

Podiatrists

Podiatrists are specialists in caring for the feet and lower legs. They can do surgery, reset broken bones, prescribe drugs, and order lab tests or X-rays. They often work closely with other specialists when a problem affects your feet or lower legs.  

Dr. Royall is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from Des Moines University’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and has served two residencies at Veteran's Administration medical centers in Tucson and Salt Lake City. Dr. Royall has practiced in Utah for more than 25 years.
